Appointment strengthens BCCG–SCA (NZ) collaboration and advances Transform30 priorities


BCCG has appointed Anita Reinecke to the National Executive. Anita brings 25+ years’ experience across governance, operations and sector education, and was recently re-elected President of Strata Community Association (NZ). Her appointment deepens the constructive relationship between BCCG and SCA (NZ) and directly supports Transform30, with a focus on Education & Partnering, Advocacy, and Awareness for owners, committees and multi-unit communities.

National President Tim Jones, who also serves on the SCA (NZ) Board, welcomed the appointment: “Anita’s steady, people-centred leadership will help us deliver clearer guidance, better tools and a stronger voice for communities across Aotearoa.”

Earlier this week, Minister Penk announced proposed changes to the legislation concerning the Earthquake Prone Building (EPB) system. BCCG was fortunate to be the representative of the unit title residential apartments sector on the ministerial Seismic Review Steering Group.

BCCG Member organisation, Dentons Kensington Swan, published an article is about a recent case that dealt with competing applications to the High Court from the owners of a townhouse unit title development in Auckland. The decision underscores the core purpose of the Unit Title Act, which is to facilitate a socially and economically sustainable framework for owning land.
