Wellington - National Disaster Resilience Strategy: what is it and what does it mean for us?

Date
16 April 2019
Time
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Venue
CQ Hotel, 223 Cuba Street, Wellington

There will be a presentation on the National Disaster Resilience Strategy which comes into effect on 10 April 2019 and replaces the 2008 National Civil Defence Emergency Management Strategy. Three major earthquakes as well as other natural disasters have happened in the interim.

The new strategy sets out the goals and objectives for civil defence emergency management for the next 10 years and incorporates the lessons learned from these and overseas events. The strategy has a focus on well-being and seeks to empower communities to take action to look after themselves and others in terms of crisis with strong local, regional and national leadership and support when needed.

What it means for inner city communities, including those living in apartments managed by body corporates will be addressed.

At the end of the presentation, members will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Come along at 5:30pm for a chance to mingle with fellow Chairs to get their insights into any issues you might be having, or experiences you want to share.

Cost Free to financial members; $40 door charge for non-financial members.
Body Corporate financial members can bring along two people for free, with a third member of their BC able to attend for a $20 door fee.
