Unit Titles Act Review Update

15 September 2017

Nikki Kaye, MP for Auckland Central, has provided a recent update regarding the reforms to the Unit Titles Act 2010.

She has confirmed that Minister Nick Smith has taken decisions through the caucus and so there will be legislation amending the Unit Titles Act in the Parliament by Christmas. This is of course contingent on who is in government after the election. The changes will at least cover policy on disclosure, dispute resolution, body corporate managers and capital maintenance plan requirements. Apparently, the work on these elements has been largely completed.

Grant Robertson, MP for Wellington Central, has said that he is broadly supportive of the changes Nikki Kaye is proposing.
